Listing, Labeling, and Follow-up Inspection ServicesSerious safety code violations have led federal, state, and local authorities to strengthen inspection and labeling requirements for many materials, products, and assemblies. Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) has responded with an independent third-party inspection quality assurance program that helps manufacturers gain product acceptance. Identification MarkWhen a product successfully completes a series of tests, a
quality control manual is prepared based on the manufacturing process. The SwRI service
mark is authorized for use on products that meet performance requirements.
Follow-up InspectionsThrough its listing and labeling services, SwRI inspects facilities, tests product samples, and lists products. Institute representatives inspect manufacturing processes during production to ensure that approved processes are being followed. Product samples are randomly selected and tested in accordance with applicable protocols. SwRI Directory of Listed ProductsProducts in good standing are published in the SwRI Directory of Listed Products, which is distributed to building inspectors, fire marshals, and regulatory agents throughout the United States.
