Structural Reliability

Providing government and industry with accurate assessments of structural reliability is a major concern. Such assessments are provided by a balanced use of both sub- and full-scale structural testing and advanced computational methods incorporating relevant failure modes. SwRI provides advanced nondestructive evaluation services in support of structural reliability assessments.

We emphasize the interaction between nondestructive inspection for critical defects, relevant material property determinations, and structural analysis. Integrity is confirmed through static and dynamic testing.

Structural Reliability offers:

  • Aerospace Structures
    • Structural design/modification
    • Usage surveys
    • Maneuver and stress spectra development
    • Stress analysis
    • Damage tolerance analysis
    • Static, dynamic vibration, and fatigue testing
    • Structural condition inspection
    • Failure analysis
    • Life extension studies for aircraft and spacecraft
    • Advanced aerospace materials
  • Industrial Hazards
    • Experimental and testing services
    • Facilities and instrumentation
    • Analytical, numerical, and predictive services
