Web-Based Training
Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) has developed a solid approach to delivering training content via the World Wide Web. SwRI can help migrate existing training course content from other media to web-based training, or develop new web-based training courseware. SwRI focuses on providing proven, standards-based technology and has created processes for rapid development and deployment of web-based training course content. SwRI combines the skills of expert instructional designers with custom tools, developed by SwRI to allow customers to be active participants in designing courseware content. Studies have shown that computer-based training can offer improved learning over classroom instruction. Web-based training can offer the same advantages as conventional computer-based training, as well as additional benefits. Benefits provided by SwRI's web-based training include: Custom Design and Development
Improved Access to Training
More Effective Learning
Cost Savings
Additional Benefits of Web-Based Training Provided by SwRICustom Solutions SwRI can provide the benefits of web-based training by designing custom solutions to meet specific training needs, or by modifying training content from other formats. Reusability Cost savings and reduced development time can be achieved by re-purposing or re-authoring existing training materials for distribution over the Internet. Distance Learning Technology SwRI can help implement the latest in distance learning technology to allow existing instructor-led courses to reach geographically diverse audiences with two-way communication. Client Maintainability Web-based training solutions provided by SwRI can be maintained by the client's training personnel and information technology staff, and are expandable as training needs change.
