The new Sequence VIE test method is currently under development at SwRI. Once completed, the Sequence VIE will replace the current Sequence VID procedure.

The current International Lubricants Standardization and Approval Committee (ILSAC) specification for gasoline passenger cars is GF-5. SwRI performs all of the necessary engine-based ASTM lubricant tests required by GF-5. Details are available below for each of these.

SwRI also conducts the older Sequence IIIF (ASTM D6984) test procedure from GF-3.
