The product development risk assessment process at Southwest Research Institute (SwRI)  is a method of determining the best mix of analytical and empirical techniques.

 

What the Risk Assessment Process Does

  • Highlights high-risk technology in a design program

  • Identifies the most effective applications of simulation techniques

  • Identifies critical testing required

  • Provides clear priorities for assigning and utilizing resources

 

How the Risk Assessment Process Works

  • Utilizes experienced SwRI and client teams to rank design simulation and engine testing capabilities for critical design changes and features

  • Identifies most effective use of simulation and testing for a given set of design project goals.

 

Results of the Risk Assessment Process

  • Maximizes the effectiveness of simulation and test resources available to the project

  • Identifies high-risk design features that may lead to product failures after production begins
