Flow visualization testing is one of the surest methods to evaluate the flow characteristics within the ports. Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) in-house prototype and test facilities expedite the ability to evaluate port designs for recirculation zones or areas of stagnation. This provides useful information to optimize the effectiveness of the port designs prior to casting of the prototype cylinder head.
