Typical Lubrication Network

Engine design engineers at Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) use both internally developed and commercially available software programs to analyze fluid circuits.

Some of the benefits of fluid flow analyses are:

  • Minimize parasitic losses within fluid passages

  • Ensure balance of pump to load

  • Ensure appropriate distribution of fluid flow and pressure throughout the network

  • Support the design of fuel, lubricant, and coolant systems
