A wide variety of laboratory and ancillary equipment at Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) support complex development projects on spark ignition (SI) engines. Dynamometers up to 2,000 horsepower and 10,000 rpm allow testing of almost any production engine. Sophisticated test cell data acquisition and control systems allow our engineers and scientists complete access to all types of engine data including the in-cylinder combustion process. Specialized facilities exist for unique project needs that are not listed below.
Please browse this web site to see the full capabilities and experience of SwRI and the Engine, Emissions & Vehicle Research Division.
