Engineers conduct performance and durability tests on valves, pumps, motors, accumulators, and other hydraulic components.

Using flexible and well-equipped test facilities, Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) staff test hydraulic components and systems to verify and validate new designs and to measure existing design characteristics.

Evaluation of Hydraulic Characteristics

SwRI evaluates a wide range of hydraulic-related characteristics, such as:

  • Efficiency

  • Flow loss

  • Burst and proof pressure

  • Durability

  • Noise

  • Pressure transients

  • Environmental

Hydraulic Component Testing

Tests are performed on a wide range of hydraulic components such as:

  • Pumps and motors

  • Valves

  • Accumulators

  • Systems
