Using a ceiling-mounted aluminum stirrer turned by a pneumatic motor, the SwRI stirred-mode facility efficiently tests whole vehicles and smaller systems. The position of the stirrer is monitored through a
fiber-optic link. |
Two anechoic chambers are available at
Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) tests and evaluations.
Anechoic
Chamber Dimensions
One chamber measures 28 ft high × 16 ft wide
× 16 ft deep and provides radio frequency (RF) attenuation in excess of 100 dB in the 30 MHz to 40 GHz range. This
facility can be fully configured with anechoic material or used without the material on the floor to expose the ground plane.
The second chamber is fully anechoic with a fibergrate floor suspended over the anechoic floor. This chamber measures 22 ft high × 32 ft wide × 22 ft deep with 6-ft cones providing 40 dB of attenuation above 200 MHz.
