Intelligent Transportation Systems Department

The Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Department in the Automation and Data Systems Division applies system design and software engineering skills to the specification, design, and development of integrated, interconnected "smart" transportation systems. ITS is comprised of a number of technologies including information processing, communications, control, and electronics. The ITS Section has experience in the four major subsystems identified in the national ITS architecture: traveler, centers, vehicles and roadside.
