image of SwRI-developed, first commercially available continuous arterial blood gas monitor

SwRI developed the first commercially available continuous arterial blood gas monitor. This medical device uses an indwelling radial artery catheter with fiber optics to measure pH, pCO2, and pO2.

Experience in a broad range of laser and electro-optics applications allows Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) engineers to provide clients with laboratory and commercial product design and evaluation.
