A training plan is typically developed for each employee to prioritize the necessary training.

Organizations hire employees to perform a multitude of tasks to satisfy customers' needs and help the business grow and prosper. Because employees offer diverse skills and abilities, organizations have to match employee skill sets to individual jobs. A task analysis helps identify gaps and training needs. A training plan is typically developed for each employee to prioritize the necessary training. Organizations are interested in developing their workforce for greater productivity and overall job satisfaction. This commitment to attaining training goals requires an investment.

Training may consist of formal instruction with on-the-job training (OJT) from internal and external resources. The combination of these resources gives employers a broad spectrum of training options to meet their specific human resource requirements. Many companies have internal training departments with subject matter experts who deliver the training to the employees. Alternative resources include:

  • Professional associations

  • Community colleges

  • Industrial trade schools

  • Independent consultants

Training Goals

Training projects for our clients begin not with "what needs to be learned" but "what is the expected result of this training investment"?

Our goal is for organizations to achieve a return on their training investment. This means that we assist these companies to apply the training to improve business processes, increase throughput and reduce lead times and operating costs, while improving employee retention and satisfaction. We empower an engaged and motivated workforce to embrace the spirit of continuous improvement.

Instruction relevant to the trainee's immediate challenge increases knowledge retention while boosting productivity and employee satisfaction.

We work with customers to establish specific return-on-investment training goals. We build relationships through understanding what motivates the trainee to improve performance in the client's company culture. Instructional methodologies and curriculum are developed to fulfill the specific client's human resource requirements.

Multidisciplinary instructors provide training capabilities with experts from your specific industry. Rather than providing generic Quality or Lean Systems training implementation, Southwest Research Institute's many different divisions offer technical guidance for unique physical and business environments. The result of our multidisciplinary approach is:

  • More focused instruction

  • More effective instruction
