A well-designed end-effector can reduce overall capital equipment costs by reducing the number of robots required, as well as increasing robot utilization.

Innovative research is conducted at Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) to advance the state of the art in science and technology. SwRI has a proven track record of conducting applied research – taking basic research and finding useful applications in the real world.

 

To make such a leap, one must not only understand the ideas behind the basic research, but also the needs of those in the real world. SwRI is unique – it is a place where scientists and engineers work side by side to bring basic research to the real world. The benefits can be enormous.
