Ensuring the efficient and safe operation of machinery during processing can be a daunting task, especially in a high-volume production operation. Furthermore, avoiding work stoppages is paramount to running an efficient process. Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) helps with such challenges by designing systems to monitor equipment and diagnose failures. Some of the technical expertise we offer includes numerous nondestructive techniques such as:

  • Conventional ultrasonic monitoring

  • Guided wave ultrasonic monitoring

  • Eddy current monitoring

  • Real-time x-ray imaging

  • Surface acoustic wave sensors
