Projects in the Applied Physics Division of Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) have led to the acquisition of several new technologies and new laboratory space ideal for chemical and physical analysis.

 

We offer our clients evaluation and analytical services on a per-sample basis as well as our capabilities to solve problems and develop new technologies in larger projects.

 

We work closely with other SwRI divisions to provide additional expertise and analytical capabilities.

Rheology and Texture Analysis

Rheology helps to understand the flow behavior of complex fluids such as paint, polymers, gels, and food. Our texture analyzer is ideal for large-strain deformation tests of adhesive, food, and pharmaceutical products.

Microscopy

Atomic force microscopy provides nanometer-scale resolution of surfaces as well as local mechanical and electrical properties of surface features.

Our analytical chemistry equipment is available for analyzing unknown samples and performing assays.

Chemical and physical analysis is part of the Applied Physics Division of Southwest Research Institute (SwRI). Because of the multidisciplinary nature of SwRI, we work closely with other SwRI scientists and engineers to provide additional expertise and analytical capabilities.

 

SwRI also offers a variety of chemical analyses and additional biological capabilities.
