Attitude determination and control system module

Attitude determination and control systems (ADCS) modules from Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) provide complete command and telemetry interfaces for positive spacecraft control and positioning.

 

SwRI ADCS modules have flown on or are in development for the following missions:

  • Deep Impact

  • Orbital Express

  • Kepler

  • WISE

Capabilities Provided by SwRI Attitude Determination and Control Systems Modules

  • Attitude control

    • Thruster drivers (22N and 4N)

    • Latch Valveso reaction wheels (command and telemetry)

    • Torque rods

  • Attitude determination

    • Up-to 16 coarse sun sensors

    • Magnetometer power and telemetry

    • IMU (single or redundant and cross strapped)

  • Analog telemetry collection

    • Up to 32 channels of analog telemetry inputs for items such as: propellant tank pressure, RWA tachometer, RWA motor current, RWA power supply voltage, RWA motor temperature, magnetometer temperature, etc.

    • 12-bit A/D

  • Bus interfaces available: VME slave

  • Form factor: extended 6U and custom
