Advanced CCSDS uplink and downlink modules provide a critical element of both the spacecraft communications subsystem as well as overall spacecraft fault management

Uplink telecommand processing and downlink telemetry formatting are critical elements of the overall spacecraft communications system. Southwest Research Institute (SwRI), as an associate member of the Consultative Committee on Space Data Systems (CCSDS), has extensive uplink/downlink hardware, software and systems engineering expertise. Hardware based solutions, such as the SwRI CCSDS formatter modules provide a wide variety of uplink protocols and downlink formatting options to maximize the capabilities and overall link budget of the space to ground telecommunications system.

Integral to the SwRI CCSDS product line is an intelligent command interpreter and telemetry data formatter providing autonomous safe mode operational capabilities. These resources facilitate fault management by allowing command and telemetry connectivity in the absence of flight software.
