The Materials Performance and Characterization Section has extensive expertise in metallurgy, corrosion, materials science, mechanical and chemical engineering, computer modeling, and failure analysis.

SwRI develops test methods for new applications and materials and conducts routine and customized corrosion testing in challenging environments. We perform applied research and development, testing, analysis, and modeling for both government and commercial clients including:
