Job Description
- Use advanced statistical modeling techniques and develop uncertainty modeling software tools to support probabilistic and reliability analyses of engineered or natural systems
- Work with experienced staff
- Develop, promote, and write proposals for research programs
- Interact with commercial and government clients
- Write and present reports and technical papers
- Manage project technical and financial performance
Education and Experience
- Requires a Ph.D. in Operations Research, Applied Statistics, or related field with R&D experience or MS with 5 years related experience
- Must have a 3.5 GPA
- The successful candidate will have:
- Experience developing and applying advanced statistical uncertainty models for the probabilistic analysis of engineering reliability problems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to take ownership of problems and work both independently and in a team environment depending on project requirements
- Knowledge of hierarchical, conditional, and multivariate modeling, extreme value, and peak-over-threshold analysis, random process modeling, Bayesian inference, and statistical decision making desired
- Experience with system-level reliability and risk methods is considered a plus
