Job Description

  • Use advanced statistical modeling techniques and develop uncertainty modeling software tools to support probabilistic and reliability analyses of engineered or natural systems
  • Work with experienced staff
  • Develop, promote, and write proposals for research programs
  • Interact with commercial and government clients
  • Write and present reports and technical papers
  • Manage project technical and financial performance

Education and Experience

  • Requires a Ph.D. in Operations Research, Applied Statistics, or related field with R&D experience or MS with 5 years related experience
  • Must have a 3.5 GPA
  • The successful candidate will have:
    • Experience developing and applying advanced statistical uncertainty models for the probabilistic analysis of engineering reliability problems
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to take ownership of problems and work both independently and in a team environment depending on project requirements
    • Knowledge of hierarchical, conditional, and multivariate modeling, extreme value, and peak-over-threshold analysis, random process modeling, Bayesian inference, and statistical decision making desired
    • Experience with system-level reliability and risk methods is considered a plus
