Fluids Engineering

We perform applied fluids engineering research for industries ranging from space exploration to oil and gas production. Projects include drilling hydraulics, cementing, separation, multiphase pumping and metering, wet gas measurement, and flow assurance. SwRI’s dedicated multiphase flow loop is available to support experimental studies with varying pressure and flow rates with gas and liquid phases. Standard or specialized tests for the oil and gas industry include safety valves to American Petroleum Institute (API) Specifications 14A and 6AV1.
