A volume of 1,125 ft3 of 3,000 psig nitrogen gas is available for various testing applications.

The Flow Component Testing Facilities (FCTF) have a high-flow gas blowdown facility that can be used for a variety of tests. The FCTF gas test facility utilizes compressed nitrogen gas to perform tests including:

  • Gas blowdown

  • ANSI/ISA S75.02 – Cv determination for gas flow

  • API 11V2 – gas lift testing

  • Noise and vibration testing

Specific capabilities of the facility include:

  • Operating pressures up to 3,000 psig

  • Flow rates up to 230 MMSCFD (million standard cubic feet/day)

  • Differential pressures over 2,000 psi

  • Gas source volume: 1,125 ft3

  • All instrumentation calibrated at regular intervals

For more information about the gas blowdown testing capabilities at Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) or how you can contract with SwRI, please contact Shane Siebenaler at ssiebenaler@swri.org or (210) 522-5758.
