B.S., Mechanical Engineering, Cum Laude,
University of Texas at San Antonio, 1996

At the University of Texas at San Antonio, Mr. Rivera's studies concentrated in mechanical and thermal system design. He was a member of both the Alpha Chi National Honor Society and the Golden Key National Honor Society.

Mr. Rivera has over 13 years experience in the Mechanical Engineering field. Mr. Rivera's broad experience includes thermal stress calculations, thermal and structural analysis, tooling design, aircraft modification programs, hardware production programs, drawing package development, project management, and customer relations.

Mr. Rivera's varied career has included rocket engine testing and symposium presentations at NASA Glenn Research Center, E-6B (U.S. Navy) and SOFIA 747SP (NASA) aircraft modification programs at Raytheon, NASA X-34 heat shield development at Oceaneering Thermal Systems and CCD digital camera development and production at Roper Scientific.

While at SwRI, Mr. Rivera has performed mechanical systems design for several projects. These projects include several tasks supporting the A-10 project, several Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) projects, and the F-16 landing gear control handle redesign. Also, Mr. Rivera performed structural analysis on a helicopter blade balancing whirltower for the Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) using Pro/ENGINEER® CAD models and Pro/FEA® analysis software. Additionally, Mr. Rivera performed structural analysis for AC130U gunship project. This analysis included building solid models of the entire gun assembly, performing strength and deflection analysis for the gun assembly, and reporting of results for different firing angles and loading conditions. This analysis was performed using Pro/ENGINEER® CAD models and ANSYS/Workbench analysis software.

Presently, Mr. Rivera is the project manager for a UAV project. This project includes production, software development, and refurbishment. Mr. Rivera's responsibilities include: program oversight, task management, cost estimation and scheduling, and customer relations.

Mr. Rivera is adept at using Pro/ENGINEER® CAD, Pro/MECHANICA FEA, and ANSYS/Workbench analysis software.
