Telcordia Network Equipment-Building
System (NEBS) testing – an industry preproduction
requirement – evaluates how telecommunications equipment
performs during various physical and electrical operating
conditions. While NEBS is used for domestic applications,
ETSI is used for European Nation applications.
Southwest
Research Institute (SwRI) is equipped to handle both NEBS
and ETSI. Additionally, GR-487-CORE testing can be performed
to assess equipment deployed outside of the Central Office.
Additional NEBS Environmental Capabilities
-
Environmental Testing: Operating
Temperature / Humidity, Packaged Thermal Extremes Shock and
High Humidity, Altitude, Acoustic Noise, Illumination
-
Mechanical Testing: Earthquake,
Transportation Vibration, Handling Drops
-
Gaseous Contaminants Testing:
Gaseous Contaminants, Hygroscopic Dust
-
Fire Testing: Fire Spread Test,
