QUALIFICATIONS:   The M-3 Group Leader position is normally the entry-level management position for an exempt staff member, although the person may also achieve this career step through promotion from a supervisory-level (M-2) position. The Group Leader normally assists in the management of one training activity or a single training program for which a manager is responsible. A Bachelor's degree in engineering or science and five years of prior technical experience or experience as a supervisor is normally required. Individuals should have completed the Institute supervisory training program or formal management training either before assuming this position or within the first year of assignment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Individuals should have demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication abilities as well as success in building training research programs or in the successful supervision of sizeable training laboratory duties, testing activities, or projects. Individuals should also have the capability and aptitude for leading others and administering to their needs. The Group Leader will participate in systems, databases and network design programs primarily within Aerospace applications.
