QUALIFICATIONS:   Managers at this level must have demonstrated the capability to successfully lead technical support staff in inventory control/management, purchase request/order preparation and tracking, logistics, stock room, division vehicle maintenance and operations and general operational support for project initiatives. The Manager provides operational support for Direction Finding, Signal Acquisition, and Electronic Warfare program research and development. A Bachelors degree in business or related academic fields is required has a minimum; and an advanced degree in business or related academic field is highly desirable. The Manager will have received training in operational support management. Outstanding organizational, management, communications, technical, and interpersonal skills are essential. The Manager must have a working knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of the range of support capabilities and tools available to solve division level operational support objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  An individual at this level has the following responsibilities supporting Direction Finding, Signal Acquisition, and Electronic Warfare program research and development:

  • Manages large multidisciplinary operational support staff environment.
  • Manages projects involving change management, business process analysis, and management of support and logistics resources.
  • Assist in assembling multidisciplinary support staff using concepts of matrix management.
  • Commands a thorough understanding of contracting procedures, rules, and regulations for SwRI, and industrial, Government, and foreign clients.
  • Has overall responsibility for technical quality, and contract and financial management of the operational support environment.
