QUALIFICATIONS:   Incumbents must have 12-years of experience and knowledge related to advanced systems, applications of new technology in the field of their specialization, project management, performance and reports, and application of PCs for use in program work related to signal exploitation and geolocation. The research areas of concentration are for signal exploitation and geolocation project initiatives. Abilities include ability to supervise subordinate staff, conduct technical sessions, effectively communicate with clients concerning project activity, write and present materials effectively, act independently to solve problems, and promote projects to clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  An individual at this level has the following responsibilities supporting Direction Finding, Signal Acquisition, and Electronic Warfare program research and development:

  • Supervises senior technical staff in development of signal exploitation and geolocation related technology projects within their field of specialization.
  • Supervises and assists subordinate staff.
  • Conducts technical sessions with clients and other Institute staff.
  • Uses PC and PC applications to perform technical tasks, generate reports, and transmit data via electronic media.
  • Develops and prepares written instructions, instructional manuals for distribution via printed and electronic media.
  • Provides information within specialty for reports and procedures.
  • Designs, development, enhancement, re-engineering and integration of RF, analog, digital electronics, electromagnetic, and electromechanical systems.
