QUALIFICATIONS:  Incumbents must have knowledge to manage programs successfully, knowledge of current technology associated with the field of specialization, ability to mentor subordinate staff, ability to write and present technical publications to groups of peers, and ability to market programs. The research areas of concentration are for signal exploitation and geolocation project initiatives. Incumbent should have 20 years of prior experience, knowledge, and ability. A newly hired staff member should have a high school or equivalent education, a combination of 20 years of continuing education and/or related experience, or Bachelors degree from an accredited university with five to 10 years of experience in the field of specialization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  An individual at this level has the following responsibilities supporting Direction Finding, Signal Acquisition, and Electronic Warfare program research and development:

  • Maintains knowledge and technical expertise to assist in development of signal exploitation and geolocation related technology programs and systems.
  • Performs studies, analyses, and evaluates signal exploitation and geolocation related technology for use in client programs.
  • Performs technical evaluation of assigned personnel.
  • Mentors and assists project personnel in developing signal exploitation and geolocation related systems within field of technical expertise.
  • Develop and prepare written instructions, instructional manuals or electronic media for delivery to client.
