QUALIFICATIONS:  Individuals will have in-depth knowledge of scientific, technical, and other principles, practices, and procedures, which are common to their field of specialty. The research areas of concentration are for signal exploitation and geolocation project initiatives. They will understand changes in technology and the application thereof, and be able to assist in the development of new or advanced systems. They will have experience supervising and training subordinate staff. They will communicate effectively verbally and in writing with clients, peers, and management. Individuals will have demonstrated satisfactory performance for ten years. An Associates degree is highly desired at this level. Validated tests may be given to determine level of knowledge and skill in a particular field.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  An individual at this level has the following responsibilities supporting Direction Finding, Signal Acquisition, and Electronic Warfare program research and development:

  • Assists professional personnel in performing technical work.

  • Performs routine data manipulation following defined procedures and assists in the interpretation and manipulation of data.

  • Uses a PC and PC applications to perform technical tasks, generate reports, and communicate with Institute staff and clients.

  • Interprets schematics, equipment manuals, blueprints, and drawings to design customized engineering or scientific components.

  • Provides technical input to technical reports and procedures.
