GETTING TO ORLANDO
Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB) is 30 minutes away. It mainly serves charters and small carriers, but has good rates for the cities it serves.
Tampa (TPA) is two hours by car. Melbourne (MLB) is 90 minutes.
The adventurous may try the DC Auto Train. It arrives in Sanford, about 30 minutes from campus. Note that unloading can take 30-90 minutes and punctuality varies, so we recommend arriving Saturday or Sunday.
GETTING TO THE UNIVERSITY OF
There is no good public transportation between the airport and the UCF area.
For ground transportation from the airport, you can find:
- A large variety of rental car agencies (driving time to UCF around 30 minutes),
- Taxis (cost to UCF about $50).
The University of Central Florida is located on the east side of Orlando, just south of Oviedo. See the driving directions to reach the main campus.
Campus parking will be available at no cost to attend the reception the evening of February 27, 2011. Upon registration check-in, each participant will be given a parking pass for campus Garage H for Feb. 28 through Mar. 2, 2011.
To access Garage H, enter the campus on University Blvd, go left at Gemini Blvd. West, and it is on the right.
