San Antonio -- Jan. 11, 2008 -- Southwest Research Institute has received the Electronic Systems Business Area (ESBA) STAR Supplier Award given by Lockheed Martin Corporation.
The award is given to Lockheed Martin suppliers in recognition of exemplary performance in providing goods or services that contribute to the success of the Lockheed Martin mission. Suppliers are evaluated in four categories: quality, delivery, affordability and management/administration.
SwRI was cited for its ability to meet the quality and delivery requirements established by ESBA in support of the A-10 Prime Contract, which provides engineering services for the U.S. Air Force A/OA-10 aircraft fleet. Lockheed Martin serves as prime contractor. SwRI has been providing system, hardware, and software engineering support as well as field support under the A-10 Prime Contract as an original Prime Team member since 1997.
Southwest Research Institute received the award from Lockheed Martin officials during a Jan. 9 tour and visit of SwRI.
