SwRI receives Alliance for Work-Life Progress Seal of Distinction

Feb. 13, 2014 — Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) is one of 66 companies in the nation awarded the 2014 Seal of Distinction by the Alliance for Work-Life Progress (AWLP). AWLP is part of WorldatWork, an association dedicated to advancing strategies and practices to attract, motivate and retain employees.

To qualify for the award, SwRI and other applicant companies were evaluated in seven categories: caring for dependents, health and wellness, workplace flexibility, financial support for economic security, paid and unpaid leave, community involvement and organizational culture.

This is the third year AWLP has awarded the Work-Life Seal of Distinction. SwRI joins an impressive group of well-known organizations including Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Delta Air Lines, Dow Corning, Johnson and Johnson, Marriott International and Texas Instruments.

"It is a great honor for SwRI to receive this recognition," said Executive Vice President Walt Downing. "At SwRI, we realize to recruit and retain quality staff members takes more than just monetary compensation. We are committed to offering our staff — and their families — a host of benefits including healthcare, wellness and retirement programs, community service opportunities and social activities."

SwRI will be formally recognized at the Work-Life Gala Awards Dinner, to be held March 20 in Baltimore. As a recipient, SwRI can use the Work-Life Seal of Distinction in all of its official communications throughout 2014.
