SUMMARY: Provide operational support to Employee Benefits Office in matters related to administration of employee benefit programs; assist with financial analysis, special reporting and regulatory requirements; assist with benefit program enrollment changes, payroll and third party administration data base changes, payment of insurance and third party administrators for premiums and claim costs and maintenance of departmental statistical database.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Requires a BS degree with 10 years experience in Administrative or customer service experience with an employee benefits provider or consulting firm. Must have at least a 3.0 GPA. Knowledge of ERISA, DOL, IRS, HIPAA, and COBRA regulations as well as employee benefits administration experience is a plus. CEBS designation a plus; must be able to work well with people and under pressure, good personal computer skills, and good telephone etiquette. Must be able to interface with staff at all levels and with both internal and external auditors; support EBO in special projects and open enrollment; comply with all safety regulations and standards. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Access required; must be proficient in Excel; must have the ability to maintain accurate records, communicate effectively, orally and in writing; ability to maintain harmonious working relationships with Institute management and staff. Above average in PC database management and software tools. A valid/clear driver’s license is required. Primary consideration for this position will be given to qualified candidates currently residing in San Antonio and surrounding areas.
