Senior Research Technologist
(Chemical Engineering)

SUMMARY:  Manage programs successfully; mentor subordinate staff; write and present technical training to groups of peers; fulfill the needs of sponsored work; process equipment application, sizing, and trouble-shooting; train and supervise subordinate staff in process and equipment operations; conduct technical sessions, and effectively communicate with clients concerning project work; organize and manage projects in equipment selection and replacement; set up processes, create hydrocarbon products, and perform related safety and chemical cleanup duties; keep logbooks and other records.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:  Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with 25 to 30 years of continuing education and/or related experience. Knowledge of refinery alkylation, FCC, and PSM regulations as well as other refinery processes required; knowledge of applications of new technologies in chemical engineering; knowledge and experience with refinery and chemical processing methods, practices, and equipment; specific knowledge is needed in alkylation, fluidized bed operations, distillation, column absorption, scrubbing, fuel blending, chemical handling, and related processes; a working knowledge and experience with Process Safety Management is required; must be able to regularly use all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment; good communication abilities for leading work tasks required. A valid/clear driver’s license is required. Shift work required.
