Engineer/Research Engineer (Mechanical Engineering)

SUMMARY: Perform technical activities related to mechanical design, analysis, and operations of facilities for processing, handling, storing, and disposing nuclear materials; must make client site visits and conduct inspections; will undergo training in use of ASME Codes and Standards; conduct independent analysis of mechanical systems using CNWRA and commercially available computer codes; prepare technical reports and journal articles; make presentations to technical and advisory groups, and testify at public meetings, if necessary.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Requires a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2 years related experience or a MS degree with 1 year related experience. Must have at least a 3.5 GPA. Course work in mechanical design, vibration of mechanical systems, numerical methods, and reliability analysis preferred. Excellent writing and speaking skills required. A valid/clear driver’s license is required.
