RESEARCH ENGINEER/RESEARCH SCIENTIST (NONDESTRUCTIVE EVALUATION)

Job Summary:
- Work with engineering staff to develop, evaluate and provide limited field testing of electromagnetic nondestructive evaluation technologies such as eddy current testing; participate in sensor design, laboratory evaluation, inspection technique development, and qualification and system development; participate in proposal efforts and other promotional activities.
Education/Experience:
- Requires a MS or PhD degree in Physics or Electrical Engineering or equivalent with emphasis on electromagnetic with at least a 2.8 GPA. Must have 1-5 year’s laboratory experience in applied electromagnetics (preferably eddy current sensor or magnetic inspection technique development). Must have thorough understanding of electromagnetics with the ability to apply that knowledge to development of innovative sensors and nondestructive evaluation techniques; must be familiar with use of laboratory instrumentation and data acquisition systems; must know how to use Microsoft software such as Word, Excel, and Power Point; must have excellent interpersonal, verbal and writing skills; must be familiar with MatLab software. Familiarity with electromagnetic modeling, including commercial finite element codes such as COMSOL, is a plus; programming experience is also a plus. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
