ENGINEER/RESEARCH ENGINEER (AUTOMATION AND DATA SYSTEMS/INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS) Job code: 10-00824*


Job Summary:

    Provide support to the Cooperative Systems Group in the areas of multi agent systems engineering (MaSE) and system of systems engineering (SoSE) through the development of a software framework, including tools, for the modeling and simulation of decentralized control systems, multiagent systems (MAS) and system of systems (SoS); identify currently-available off-the-shelf software solutions, which may be integrated into the custom-developed framework - the framework and tools developed must be broadly applicable to domains such as intelligent transportation systems, robotics, autonomous ground and air vehicles, and distributed energy generation (DEG); perform in all phases of the development lifecycle, including requirements definition, hardware/software/systems design, implementation, testing and integration; initiate advanced research and development programs; interact with clients, and make technical presentations.

Education/Experience:

    Requires a BS or MS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering with a minimum of 3.5 GPA and 0-5 years experience in the development and analysis of models and simulations for decentralized control systems. Must demonstrate a firm understanding of decentralized control theory and application. Relevant coursework or experience in biomimetic systems is a plus. BS must have at least 2 years relevant experience. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well individually or as a member of a project team is required; must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience developing within Linux and Windows operating systems is required; must be proficient in C++, and prefer experience with C# or Java. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
