POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER (SPACE STUDIES) (BOULDER, COLORADO)

Job Summary:
- Conduct research activities in areas including planetary surface geophysics with emphasis on Mars regolith; activities may include a combination of laboratory experiments, theoretical modeling, and spacecraft data analysis. Potential areas of study are: Thermal and mechanical properties of the martian regolith; the role of surface and subsurface volatiles on Mars; geophysical processes and regolith structure inferred from spacecraft observations.
Education/Experience:
- Must have a PhD degree in Planetary Science or a related field with at least a 3.0 GPA. Potential areas of study are: Thermal and mechanical properties of the martian regolith, the role of surface and subsurface volatiles on Mars, geophysical processes and regolith structure inferred from spacecraft observations, and planetary regolith formation and evolution. Strong quantitative analysis, numerical modeling, and/or laboratory skills and experiences are desired.
Special Considerations:
- Note: Work assignment is in Boulder, Colorado. This is a 1 year limited term assignment with an option to renew in 2nd year.
