RESEARCH ENGINEER (TRAINING SIMULATION)

Job Summary:
- Participate in the research, design and development of real-time training simulations and interactive 3D graphics applications; perform all phases of the software development life cycle including requirements generation, design, implementation, testing, integration, installation, maintenance, and preparation of required documentation; interact with SwRI staff and client personnel; travel to client sites as required.
Education/Experience:
- Requires a BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering or related field from ABET approved university with at least a 3.5 GPA. Masters preferred. Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in software development, debugging and testing using C, C++, C#, Javascript, Java and Python in a Windows environment and 2 years experience in 3D graphics application development using OpenGL, Unity, Havok or similar; cg shader development; 3D modeling using 3DStudioMax or similar; mobile application development. Must have experience in the full life cycle development of real-time 3D simulation software; must have experience in development of 3D graphics; knowledge of 3D modeling packages and software development using C, C++, C#, Java, Javascript, Python and OpenGL; must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be able to work well independently or as member of project team; must have experience in game development, user interface development and mobile application development is highly desired. Some travel required. A valid drivers license is required.
