TECHNICIAN (INSTRUMENTATION) Job code: 11-00578


Job Summary:

    Work as Instrumentation Technician; assemble, test, and document instrumentation, data acquisition and power systems; review project instructions, specifications and drawings to ascertain test specifications, procedures and objectives for assembly and testing; ensure calibration, maintenance, and readiness of instrumentation, tools and test equipment; set up and conduct tests and inspections of instrumentation and electrical systems; confer with engineers and others regarding testing requirements; recommend and report corrective procedures and needed repairs; record calibration and inspection data; compare findings with specifications to ensure conformance to standards.

Education/Experience:

    Requires a high school diploma or an AA degree in instrumentation, or related field with at least a 3.0 GPA. AA degree preferred. Must have 2-5 years experience in technical field with electrical and instrumentation experience; must have experience with Data Acquisition Systems, instrumentation equipment, instrumentation wiring, industrial electrical wiring, and utility power; must be able to interpret electrical schematics and written instructions, specifications, and quality plans; must be able to use precision calibration tools; must have mechanical ability and dexterity; create wiring diagrams using CAD software is a plus; must have familiarity with computer components; must be willing to expand skills; must be professional with good work habits, strong workmanship and a positive attitude; must have good interpersonal /team skills; willingness to work overtime a plus. Current TS or TS/SCI security clearance is highly desired. A valid/clear driver's license is required.

    Primary consideration for this position will be given to qualified candidates currently residing in San Antonio and surrounding areas.
