RESEARCH ENGINEER/SR. RESEARCH ENGINEER (SPACE HARDWARE)

Job Summary:
- Develop mechanical designs for space hardware; design structures and electronic packaging for extreme environments; perform structural and thermal analyses on flight hardware; produce reports fully documenting work performed; supervise fabrication of hardware; develop vibration and thermal test plans support design reviews throughout product life cycle and at multiple levels of integration; defend design to both customer and non-advocate reviewers; support promotional and proposal activities as part of team effort to develop new opportunities.
Education/Experience:
- Requires a BS or MS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with at least a 3.0 GPA with 3 - 7 years of experience in electromechanical design & analysis, preferably space related but core skills related to other industries (e.g., aircraft, automotive) may be considered. MS in technical field is a plus. Experience using computer-aided engineering software for design and analysis is required; working knowledge of Pro/Engineer, ANSYS and Thermal Desktop is a plus. May require field support by traveling to customer facilities, NASA field centers, military bases and overseas. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
