ENGINEER (AEROSPACE STRUCTURES)

Job Summary:
- Develop a structural analysis of a needed structural repair called for on an Air Force aircraft; work with San Antonio and Hill AFB staff to develop a repair concept to be used consistent with Air Force maintenance; in some cases travel to Hill AFB to finalize concept with aircraft hardware; develop the reporting documents needed to archive the analyzed repair; develop and present summary briefings as required by the Air Force of repair analyses; travel and present technical papers to selected engineering conferences.
Education/Experience:
- Requires a BS degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with at least a 3.2 GPA. Must have 0-2 years of experience with Finite Element Analyses of aircraft or aircraft related structure and must have 0-2 years of experience with aircraft structural repair analyses. Undergraduate emphasis on structures or structural analyses is required and undergraduate exposure to finite element analyses is required. Aircraft damage tolerance analyses experience is desired; structural testing experience is desired; aircraft structural design experience is desired; desired ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
