RESEARCH ENGINEER/SR. RESEARCH ENGINEER (SPACE SCIENCE)

Job Summary:
- Support the development of spacecraft Attitude Determination and Control Subsystems (ADCS); conceptualize, develop, evaluate, and support the design, implementation and verification of the ADCS; participate on the ADCS design team and will support the Lead Systems Engineer in test, integration, deployment, and on orbit operational activities; contribute to the development and analysis of future concepts, architectures, and technologies for spacecraft ADCS.
Education/Experience:
- Requires a BS degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Physics with at least a 3.0 GPA and 3+ years experience. Aerospace Engineering preferred. Must have experience with the development of linear & non-linear systems including hardware-in-the-loop simulation; knowledge of Matlab, Simulink and C/C++ programming is required; must be familiar with inertial navigations systems, hydraulic and electro-mechanical servos, reaction control systems and propulsion systems; experience with real-time embedded code development is required; must have experience with test planning and execution; knowledge of space systems engineering, feedback control system theory, and/or spacecraft dynamics is desired; excellent analytical skills is desired; knowledge of currently available attitude determination sensors and control hardware is desired; strong technical background and ability to learn under the supervision of a senior engineer is required; strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with engineers of all relevant disciplines is required; flexibility to multi-task and adapt to changing technologies is a must. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
