RESEARCH ENGINEER (NONDESTRUCTIVE SYSTEMS)

Job Summary:
- Design, code, test, document, and support software for specialized nondestructive evaluation applications and systems; integrate software with associated hardware systems; interface with customer representatives at SwRI and at customer sites, and with SwRI hardware and software engineering staff; prepare technical documents and support proposal preparation.
Education/Experience:
- Requires a MS degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics with at least a 3.0 GPA and 1 year of experience. Must be proficient in the development of integrated hardware/software systems for nondestructive evaluation. Must have proficiency in C/C++; must be able to work with Linux/UNIX and Windows operating systems; some experience in MATLAB and LabVIEW software is desired; experience with signal processing, GPU programming for acoustic and/or electromagnetic applications is desired; experience with OpenSource software development is desirable; must have good working knowledge of Microsoft; must be able to write clear and concise proposals and reports; must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Travel to customer facilities (both foreign and domestic) to transfer technology will also be required A valid/clear driver's license is required.
