SR. RESEARCH ENGINEER (SPACE SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING)

Job Summary:
- Responsible for design, test and manufacture of new designs; design space flight electronic boards and systems for use in NASA, DoD, and commercial spaceflight systems, as well as other high reliability applications; design microprocessors/microcontroller/DSP-based computers and digital systems with high performance, high bandwidth interfacing utilizing FPGAs, SDRAM, FLASH, A/Ds, D/A and assorted support chips; take systems from requirements to hardware implementations, working closely with customer and internal design staff to mature requirements and finalize design architecture; verify testing of customer hardware; provide field support at customer facilities.
Education/Experience:
- Requires a BS degree in Electrical Engineering with at least a 3.0 GPA. Priority will be given to candidates with direct space flight design experience. Master’s degree is a plus. 7+ years of experience with Digital and Analog Design, Low Power Electronics Design, High Speed Digital Design and Mixed Mode Circuit Design is a plus. Must possess solid electronics design skills associated with digital logic and analog measurement circuits, with experience in verification and validation of designs; must have strong test and circuit debugging skills and be proficient with standard Analysis tools, Design Tools and laboratory electronics test equipment; must have demonstrated record of taking systems from requirements to hardware implementations, working closely with customer and internal design staff to mature requirements and finalize design architecture; strong lab skills required for the verification testing of customer hardware; strong communication skills, including both verbal and written are a must. Field support may require travel to customer facilities. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
