RESEARCH ENGINEER/SR. RESEARCH ENGINEER (SPACE SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING)

Job Summary:
- Responsible for design, analysis, documentation and verification of Electrical Ground support equipment used to verify and validate Spaceflight computer and power subsystem; develop specifications, cost, schedule and resource requirements for EGSE level design; provide direction to Electrical, Software and PCB designers; work within an IPT environment with other disciplines such as electrical engineering, packaging, parts, reliability, production and quality assurance; verify testing of customer hardware; provide field support at customer facilities.
Education/Experience:
- Requires a BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Aerospace Engineering with at least a 3.0 GPA. Master’s degree is a plus. Priority will be given to candidates with direct space flight design experience. Must have 3+ years of experience with Design Electrical Ground Support equipment used in the test and validation of high reliability electronic/electrical systems. Design for spaceflight systems is preferred. Proficient using Labview hardware and software is required; Digital, Analog and Software design experience required; familiarity with ASYST, OASIS-CC and Python a plus; must be able to develop specifications, cost, schedule and resource requirements for EGSE level design, providing direction to Electrical, Software and PCB designers, and working within an IPT environment with other disciplines such as electrical engineering, packaging, parts, reliability, production and quality assurance; requires strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills; strong lab skills required for the verification testing of customer hardware. Field support may require travel to customer facilities. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
