RESEARCH ENGINEER/SR. RESEARCH ENGINEER (SPACE SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING)

Job Summary:
- Develop mechanical designs for space hardware; design structures and electronic packaging for extreme environments; perform structural and thermal analysis on flight hardware; produce reports fully documenting work performed; supervise fabrication of hardware, develop vibration and thermal test plans; support design reviews throughout product life cycle and at multiple levels of integrations; defend design to both customer and non-advocate reviewers; support promotional and proposal activities as part of team effort to develop new and innovative products; provide field support at customer facilities.
Education/Experience:
- Requires a BS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with at least a 3.0 GPA. Master’s degree is a plus. Priority given to candidates with co-op, internship or mechanical design/analysis-related job experience. Must have 3+ years of experience in electromechanical design and analysis, preferably space related; experience using computer aided engineering software for design and analysis required; working knowledge of ProEngineer, ANSYS and Thermal Desktop is a plus. Field support may require travel to customer facilities. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
