SR. RESEARCH SCIENTIST (NANO-ENGINEERED MATERIALS)

Job Summary:
- Assist with current and future research and development projects, project management, proposal writing, develop and maintain customer relationships; perform experiments in developing, fabricating, and analyzing advanced materials; assist in developing and promoting new research initiatives with existing and prospective commercial and government clients; investigate approaches to address emerging technology needs including nano-engineered materials, energy storage materials and materials for sensors; plan, promote and execute the development of crosscutting chemical and physical techniques to meet program development; prepare research plans, develop proposals to government agencies and commercial companies and participate in technical and promotional seminars.
Education/Experience:
- Requires a PhD degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry or Physics with at least a 3.5 GPA with 5 years of industry experience. Must have experience with developing novel materials such as quantum dots, nanotubes, nanomaterials and composites; must have knowledge of material synthesis including characterization techniques and ability to interpret data from these tools; must have knowledge of and/or experience with any of the following: sensors, smart materials, thin-film batteries, power-generation materials, oil and gas materials and thin film materials. A valid/clear driver's license is required.

- Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
