PRINCIPAL ENGINEER/SR. RESEARCH ENGINEER (SPACE SYSTEMS) Job code: 15-01087*


Job Summary:

    Full lifecycle lead for space flight digital electronics architecting high-reliability electronics systems for use in NASA, DoD, and commercial spacecraft, as well as other high reliability applications; responsible for taking systems from concept to implementation through delivery of flight-qualified systems for launch; design tasks include designing microprocessor, microcontroller, DSP-based computers and digital systems with high performance, high bandwidth interfacing utilizing FPGAs, SDRAM, FLASH, A/Ds, D/As; must have demonstrated record of taking systems from requirements to hardware implementations, working closely with customers and internal design staff to mature requirements and finalize design architectures; strong lab skills are required for the verification testing of custom hardware; field support may require travel to customers' facilities, NASA field centers, and military bases.

Education/Experience:

    Requires a BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering with at least a 3.3 GPA. Must have 7 years experience with digital and analog circuit design, low power electronics design, high speed digital design, mixed mode circuit design. Must possess solid electronics design skills associated with digital logic and analog circuit design, with experience in verification and validation; must have strong test and circuit debugging skills and be proficient with standard laboratory electronics test equipment; must have strong communication skills, including both written and verbal; must have Verilog/VHDL design experience. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
