RESEARCH ENGINEER/SR. RESEARCH ENGINEER (SIGNAL EXPLOITATION & GEOLOCATION) Job code: 16-00822*


Job Summary:

    Involved in all aspects of antenna development for radio direction finding (DF) and wireless communication applications: from design and simulation to fabrication, testing (in anechoic chambers and outdoor test sites), and optimization; use high-end computational resources in electromagnetic simulation of antennas and platforms (such as airborne, naval and terrestrial vehicles) to characterize and predict performance in the installed scattering environment; collaborate across disciplines (electrical and mechanical engineers, physicists, materials scientists, chemists) on the development of novel antenna technologies that provide new or enhanced capabilities for our customers; propose and lead creative Internal Research & Development projects to advance antenna (and DF array) technology; work on multiple, simultaneously ongoing projects; author proposals and technical reports, and present technical briefings to coworkers and customers; be active in a collaborative team environment.

Education/Experience:

    Requires a MS or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering with at least a 3.3 GPA with antenna design, applied computational electro magnetics and/or antenna array processing experience. Master’s degree candidate must have 2 - 7 years of related experience. PhD. candidate must have 0 - 2 years experience with dissertation focus or industry experience in antenna design, applied computational electro magnetics, and/or antenna array processing. Experience with Mathworks MATLAB and one or more of the following applied computational electro magnetics software packages is preferred: EMSS FEKO, CST Microwave Studio, Ansoft HFSS, NEC (or any of its variants), or WIPL-D; must be familiar with network analyzers; strong written and verbal communication skills are required. A valid/clear driver's license is required.

    Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
